| Job Description: |
Reports directly to Information Technology Manager and team leaders. As assigned member of team responsible for the installation, configuration, and support for local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and Internet systems for large network environments such as municipality school districts and large cap corporations. Plan and test the migration of assigned Maximo applications to the MXES version to ensure system integrity. Analyze and review information systems infrastructure consisting of 100+ servers, with Windows and Linux operating different functions including file servers (SAN, Samba), databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server), 3-tier web applications and web servres (IIS, AOL Server). As assigned provide support for critical J2EE application maintenance employing IBM Maximo applications with Oracle, BEA Weblogic and Actuate iServer reports. Working in conjunction with IT staff (progammer analysts, software engineers, systms analysts) configure network systems, monitor system using Science Login EM7 solution with SNMP and Syslog. Prepare, plan and coordinate for IT Manager's review security on server side by using Group Policy and WSUS. Remain abreast of and apply security patches. Automate daily systems administration tasks to improve efficiencies by scripting in VB Script, Perl and Bash. In conjunction with IT staff set up exact copy of production environment for already existing applications using VMWare ESX Server 3 and other virtualization products for development, validation and test purposes in order to improve robustness of internal development. Monitor assigned systems and networks and control computer network access and use in assigned systems. Configure and back up systms with Tivoli Storage Manager and Data protection for Oracle Servers.
